Star Force 3-Disc Box Set to Release in the UK
[ ANIME NEWS ] :: posted on Jul 06, 2008 by Seiko
The first news of the SSR/Star Force anime receiving any kind of DVD release has finally surfaced, and it's not even a Japanese release!
Various online stores (such as Play.com) are listing a 3-disc "Mega Man Star Force Boxset" for release in the UK this coming November 3rd, and Play.com even features cover art (which is just the art for the Saurian version of MMSF2).
The cover art claims that Manga is publishing the set. However, I cannot find any remnants of Mega Man on their official website.
Amazon UK's listing claims 300 minutes of run-time. Considering an episode is roughly 10 minutes long, that's about 30 episodes (by the Japanese count) across 3-discs. Not very much for a box set, IMO...
Another oddity exists in the box art, which features transformations from the second game, one of which that doesn't even appear in the anime until the very last episode of Tribe.
Eye on Anime also offers a bit of insight about the box set from its announcement at the May London MCM expo.
"Megaman Star Force will be a single box set release and will test the waters for possibly more Megaman series like NT Warrior."
Remember, though, that all these DVDs are region-locked in the UK, so if you don't have a multiregion DVD player, you won't be able to play this box set when it eventually releases in a few months.
Minor RnR3 Update, larger images
[ GAME NEWS ] :: posted on Jul 04, 2008 by Miyabi
A couple of Japanese gaming sites have written articles about RnR3. Although there isn't much new info, there are a few things you might be interested to learn. ITMedia's report gives a little more substance to what the HunterVG can do in terms of transformations. Directly quoting Heat Man's translation at TMMN:
"In every Hunter VG the Satellite Police have installed an EM transformation authentication system. In theory, this would allows anyone with a Hunter VG to do an EM transformation like Geo, except the EM transformation program is locked and can only be opened with an authentication code sent by the Satellite Police. MegaMan's appearance after transforming has also changed due to the Hunter VG's Wizard control system. With all of the battle card data stored in the left hand buster, weapons can be equipped more freely than before. There are also other hidden abilities, which are secret for now."
Also according to Heat's info, we have more Wizards to report for the rest of Subaru's crew. As expected, Lyra will have a wizard form for Misora. However, Luna's FM counterpart appears to be gone, replaced by a wizard known as Mode. Kizamaro will also have his own wizard, going by the name (wiki-) Pedia.
Inside-Games' report doesn't offer much more. It mentions that each wizard will have a special ability, such as War Rock's talent being able to "tear Denpa space." We also learn that Shidou's wizard, Acid, has great speed and elec-based power. Laplace, belonging to Solo, does appear to be connected to the lost continent of Mu, but specific details of it's existence are still lacking.
Both sites have higher quality copies of the new official artwork and color variations of the HunterVG. Grab them there, or in our unofficial-official art thread in the forums.
It's a nice day for a white wedding
[ GAME NEWS ] :: posted on Jun 27, 2008 by Miyabi
I apologize for not being able to update with the last RnR3 site update in reasonable time, due to some computer issues. But there's no better time than now, as the RnR2 site just updated today!
We'll start with last week's RnR3 update. Following the info of the Hunter VG and the scan that accompanied it, we get a clean look at the newly tweaked design for Rockman in a snazzy new wallpaper. Pic up the image here, if you haven't already:
Over at the RnR 2 site, wedding bells are ringing. No, not for Subaru yet. The ninth wallpaper has Misora all dressed up for flower girl duties for someone's wedding. It's called "Wedding Party," of course. Linked below:
There are two new Developer's Column entries, as well. Both seem to briefly mention the Ra Mu card from the World Hobby Fair, along with a few other things I'm not going to trust Babelfish for, for a proper explanation here.
And yes, even if we haven't officially said it on the main page: STAR FORCE 2 IS OUT! So go buy it and happy gaming to all!

No voice acting in Starforce 2?
[ GAME NEWS ] :: posted on Jun 25, 2008 by Sketch
Our source for the name changes, GMLink, has recently informed me that there is no voice acting in Star Force 2.
He noticed that no one announced the name of the game at the title screen, like it does in the Japanese version.
Whether this also includes in battle voice acting remains to be seen because the only speaking roles in battle are the names of the different Tribe Ons.

More Ryuusei 3 news to report, and as usual, I'm the last person in the community to post it.
Info has surfaced from the latest CoroCoro mag revealing a few new names, characters and devices, among other things.
To paraphrase, there are new EM characters known as 'wizards' who can materialize in the real world, just as Navis did (through copyroid technology) towards the end of the EXE series. It sounds like there might be varying classifications of wizards. For example, 'battle wizards' would be ones who fight viruses.
Transers have changed once again with a new device called the Hunter VG.
Our mystery character from the very first wallpaper's name is Akatsuki Shidou, who is a Satellite Police agent and creator of the Hunter VG. He has possession of a wizard known as Acid. Solo also appears with a wizard now, and its name is Laplace.
For a better look at a scan from the issue, head to our affiliate TMMN or view the sample HERE.
Both Ryuusei Sites Update
[ GAME NEWS ] :: posted on May 30, 2008 by Miyabi
More wallpaper-y goodness today coming from both the Ryuusei 2 and Ryuusei 3 webpages.
From the RnR 2 site, it's sleepy time for Misora. The eighth installment of wardrobe changes has your favorite singer in her PJs. It's called "Fuka Fuka Good Night." Linked below:
There have also been two Developer's Column entries since we last broke news. The first talks about RnR3 being in development, the World Hobby Fair and info about the Ra Mu card from it. The latest entry talks about the Osaka Wave Masters event being held this Sunday, June 1st. _________________
On to other places...
Once again, everything is thrice as nice at the RnR 3 site. Three versions of a new sketchy wallpaper, which has some nice concepts of Subaru, War Rock, Rockman, Luna and more! Pick and choose your size here:
Other than that, the site is still just full of empty noise.

An annual rite of summer is currently going on in our lil' Rockman community. That's right, it's time for Maqqy's annual Bathing Suit Contest!
In addition to the usual humor and talent categories for artists, this year Maq has added a fanfiction category as well. So all the creative writers in our community can also show off their skills this summer, while having fun in the sun.
There have been a couple other changes to the contest, including the deadline, which is a month earlier than normal (July 30th). So, if you plan to enter, you best get started ASAP!
For more info regarding the rules of the contest, or to check out past entries, head over to MHHO. Hopefully we'll see some of our members represent with some nice Ryuusei works! (Don't be a crab, buku...JOIN IN! ) Good luck to all who enter.
New site making some noise
[ GAME NEWS ] :: posted on Apr 25, 2008 by Miyabi
Hey, I don't have a Ryuusei 2 site update for once! The brand-spanking new Ryuusei 3 page has opened!
There isn't much to do, other than grab a snazzy new wallpaper. It features the usual suspects, with Burai and a new guy who has blue hair and his own red visualizer. Personally, he sorta reminds me of a cross of EXE's Kirisaki and Barrel.
There is also a teaser that says: "The future of this planet is now up to them," along with "2008. Noise will conceal the world." We know that the theme of the boss contest is supposed to be 'space,' so one wonders what this noise will be all about. Astronomers are constantly searching the cosmos for noise in the hunt for extra-terrestrial life, so it's another fitting teaser. But what it all means has yet to be revealed.
We'll be sure to update with more news from this site as it's released.
And there is an update to the developer's Column, which essentially talks about a special battle card that is going to be given away...that, and something about wearing a futon properly. Which I don't think you humanly can. I love babelfish.
Also for those who didn't know, CoroCoro announced that the boss contest for the third RnR game is currently underway. So despite the plug being pulled on the anime, it appears the series is still going strong enough for another game.
EDIT: A little more info about the contest has also surfaced. Entries are due by May 14th, with results to be revealed in the November issue. Prizes include copies of RnR3. And of course, the winner gets their character featured in the game itself.
And thanks to forum member Malik, we also have that scan for anyone who is interested: RnR3 Contest Scan
News Credit: Star?Break, Repliroid20XX of RPM for more contest details, Malik for the scan, and every other site with the boss contest news before us.
